ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Dr. Victor Àlàbí holds a Ph.D. in African Linguistics with a specialization in African Languages and Cultures from Indiana University where he taught Yorùbá to undergraduate and graduate students at all levels. Dr. Àlàbí currently teaches at Brown University.
A former Fulbright FLTA, Dr. Àlàbí has taught students at both Indiana University and Brown University for over ten years. Dr. Àlàbí has also taught kids and youths around the world for several years.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Àlàbí has made over forty research and pedagogical presentations at conferences and workshops in and out of the United States. Dr. Àlàbí has published over fifteen publications in peer-reviewed journals and books.
Dr. Àlàbí is a Faculty Affiliate of the Linguistics Program as well as the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs at Brown University. He is also an affiliated scholar of the West African Linguistic Institute at Indiana University. Dr. Àlàbí is a Co-Editor of Ìmọ̀ Èdè: Journal of Yorùbá Language Pedagogy.
